Last year, I had the pleasure of photographing Matt & Kayla’s wedding and the day had a mind of its own. The couple was ready to say “I do” outdoors, surrounded by nature and sunshine—but nature had other plans. The wind kicked up like it was auditioning for a role in a disaster movie, turning what was supposed to be a breezy outdoor ceremony into a hilariously memorable indoor event.
And honestly? It was perfect. They made the quick decision to move the ceremony indoors—and let me tell you, it did not dampen their spirits. If anything, it made everything feel even more intimate and cozy.
From the moment I arrived, the energy was vibrant, laid-back, and full of excitement. The couple and their guests were all smiles, enjoying the day as it unfolded.
In the end, it wasn’t the perfect weather that made this day unforgettable—it was the love, laughter, and sense of adventure. The wind? Well, it just added a bit of extra fun to the mix. If there’s one thing I’ll always remember about this wedding, it’s how the couple and their guests embraced the unpredictability and turned it into part of the story.
Sometimes, a little breeze (or a big gust) can blow in the best kind of memories.
